Hello there...

I'm Shaun James, music producer, dj and self published author. Welcome to my official website.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

Here you can read all about me, from the early years right up until present day.

MUSIC LIFE:

Deeply inhabited by electronic music, I adopt my concepts, stories and aesthetics from the outset. My obsession for sound and electronic music is creating a positive state of mind, searching for a magical place out of this world almost away from reality, which doesn't exist until the individual gets there. Each individual has different destinations of where music takes them. Techno takes you on a journey to nowhere. But sometimes that nowhere is somewhere. Depending on how far the mind travels, we reach new points in the universe which we never knew existed.

I solely founded my record label Innersound Digital in 2020, using the name as a reminder to always create your art from your true inner self and what makes you happy. For me at the time it was electronic music such as Techno & House. Electronic music is permanently engraved in my heart and soul.

DJ'ing and music creation has been a big part of my life since 1998. I was first introduced to electronic music from the young age of 8 years old. I have a great ear for sounds which was influenced from my older brother. As a child growing up listening to UK Happy Hardcore, Hard House, Techno and House music, my passion for music grew instantaneously. The very first album I was introduced to was Bonkers 3: A Journey Into Madness. Being influenced by my favourite artists such as music producers Jonathan Kneath (DJ Sharkey), Ian Hicks (DJ Hixxy) & Scott Brown.

In 1998, I first learnt the art of music production on the classic Playstation 1 game ''Music, Music 2000 & Dance Ejay. I learned to DJ with vinyl and turntables from my brother. My brother showed me everything I needed to know about DJ'ing. We both would stay up every Friday and Saturday night listening to the Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 with Pete Tong, Judge Jules, and Fergie.

The 2 hour long radio shows back then was the main source of finding the record names. Also the collection of many Mixmag and DJ magazines. Me and my brother would write them down and during the week my brother would go out and purchase them. I would often sit and watch my brother mix for hours and then eventually he would let me have a go myself. He would teach me for hours on end, being very patient showing me exactly what to do and how all the equipment works, and also everything I needed to know which has made me who I am today. It was from this not only did I learn the fundamentals of DJ'ing but also I learnt about song structure, how songs were layered and produced, sound frequencies. EQ, and other valuable skills.

In 2003, I was writing and recording songs for my friends, mainly hip hop songs that I would share amongst friends on mp3 players. Also making Techno Mix cd's with tracks from the likes of Joey Beltram & Oxia, as well as Drum & Bass mixes with tracks from my favourite producers such as DJ Markey & XRS.

In 2011, I started to produce my own records, ranging from Hip Hop and electronic dance music. Making Hip Hop instrumentals for rappers around the world and in the local area amongst friends.

In 2012, I released a collection of Hip Hop instrumentals amongst friends whilst I was also exploring different genres of music to produce such as Techno, House, UK Happy Hardcore, Deep House, Tech House and Drum & Bass.

In 2018, I started releasing music to the general public, where people could stream my music on Spotify and iTunes, and also purchase from the worlds biggest electronic music store Beatport. Over the years I had regular support and radio play from BBC radio and other radio stations such as Beach Radio.

I had built up over 7000 followers and supporters from all over the globe online with my Techno DJ sets and records being released. Having regular interaction with my fans with my DJ set Livestreams online whilst also being featured on the biggest online music store for electronic music, Beatport's Best New Tech House Feburary 2020.

In 2020, the time had come for my first ever DJ booking. To play internationally in Spain and then Greece. Unfortunately due to the worldwide pandemic at that time all bookings and events were cancelled. I sadly lost my social media account that year containing all my followers from around the world due to mistaken identify.

As time has passed over the years with life challenges my continuous exploration for deep philosophy, spirituality, sound, art, nature, space, and other unexplainable emotional phenomenon's, my passion for music and creativity has never faded.

As I was going through life's trials and tribulations I was growing and also changing as a person so I wanted to come up with a new concepts, new artist names and alias's with new identities as an Artist, thus creating new aliases Synthinnate and Eski Mills.

In 2022, under my alias name Synthinnate, I started to release music until early 2024 along with hardware production videos of me making my records on machines and synthesizers. I had taken a strong interest in LIVE hardware DAWless production setups and producing music entirely from analog, digital and modular synthesizers and drum machines. The sounds that I write/compose and produce to then sculpt and shape right from the machines and send into my recording software. I find it interesting how machines work, how to connect other machines via daisy chain, Midi, or using patch cables. Learning machines and configuring settings in order to sync, but also having fun being creative and making sounds and making music.

In 2024, a new era began, a new beginning with my newest alias Eski Mills. The name came from being heavily inspired by my childhood musical idols Richard Cowie (Wiley), from London, and Jeff Mills, from Detroit.

My artist alias name Eski Mills is named after my 2 favourite producers of all time, they both had a huge impact on my life with music, so I am very honoured to be able to name myself after my 2 hero's.

Eski Mills is the main alias and artist for the foreseeable from Innersound Digital.

I released my 1st ever album ''Every Cat Lands On Its Feet Vol.1'' and releasing my 1st vinyl record E.P ''2nd Sign'', I'm primarily focusing on underground 90s and 2000s Techno & House music. Releasing a large a catalogue of records not only for my own personal use and collection, but also for all the DJ's and music lovers around the world.

I love all styles of music such as Jazz, Country, Rock, Blues, Ambient Chill Out, and World. To more electronic genres and sub genres such as Techno, Dub Techno, House and Deep House.

You can listen to my entire discography from over the years

I hope you enjoy many hours digging and finding hidden gems within my collection on my website.

Happy listening :)

I'm currently working on my 2nd album called Sound Therapy, music specifically produced to help you sleep, relax the body, and also for meditation and healing. With numerous songs on the album to help aid in relaxation, this album is specifically produced for everyone. Filled with natural sounds of nature with warm soft strings and pads to relax the body and mind. This will be available on streaming sites such as Apple Music & Spotify sometime this year 2025.

BOOKS

In 2025, I published my 1st ever book, titled ''A Boy And His Duck''. A children's bedtime story based on true events of my son.

The purity of love and imagination of a child playing with his giant duck plushie on a warm sunny day in the garden on his new swing.

This is the perfect book designed to relax children before bedtime. A happy story which aims to put a smile on your child's face before they go to sleep. Enjoyable and fun with rhyming to help develop Early Years and Key Stage 1 learning.
